What "Western Food" Actually Means in PJ
Walk into ten Malaysian Western food restaurants and you'll see the same shape on the menu: chicken chop, lamb chop, fish and chips, spaghetti, sizzling steaks served on cast-iron plates with rice or fries. This isn't European cuisine. It's a category Malaysia built — Western dishes adapted, plated, and seasoned the way locals actually want to eat them. Hot mushroom gravy. Mashed potato. Coleslaw. A wedge of lime tartar on the side.
PJ has been one of the Klang Valley's Western food capitals for decades. From SS2 hawker stalls to mid-range cafés in Damansara, the category sits at the centre of how Petaling Jaya eats out. The bar is high. To stand out in the PJ Western food scene, you need either old-school authenticity or a confident new twist. We aim for both.
The Classics: Chicken Chop and Sizzling Plates

No Western food menu in Malaysia is complete without chicken chop. We do two takes:
- Crispy Chicken Chop Set — RM25. Breaded, deep-fried chicken chop served with our crinkle-cut Awesome Fries, mashed potato, coleslaw, and lime tartar.
- Grilled Chicken Chop Set — RM25. Same sides, but the chop is grilled instead of fried — for the customer who wants something slightly lighter.
Both come with our house mushroom gravy on request. That gravy is what separates good chicken chop from great chicken chop in PJ — and we make ours daily, not from a packet.

Sizzling plates are the other half of the Western food classic. Grilled protein, rice, vegetables, a sunny-side egg, all served on a cast-iron platter that's still smoking when it hits your table. It's theatre, but it's also delicious.
The Burgers — Where Gila Burger Earns Its Name
Burgers are the heart of any Western food menu in PJ, and they're what we built the brand on. Our beef and chicken burgers run from RM14.90 single patties up to RM32.90 for the Triple Attack Combo (beef, chicken AND lamb in one burger). Highlights:
- Big Daddy / Big Mama (RM19.90) — our double-stack beef and chicken hero burgers. The PJ favourites by order volume.
- Tenggiri Fish Burger — Malaysia's first fish burger built on local Spanish mackerel. A Malaysian-first creation you won't find anywhere else.
- Mac N' Cheese Burger — beef or chicken patty topped with creamy mac & cheese. The kind of burger that gets photographed before it gets eaten.
- Kambing Burger (RM29.90) — lamb patty, full loaded. For when you want something different.
- Hawaiian Burger with Cheese — beef patty, pineapple, mustard. The sweet-savoury split.

Funky Fries: Loaded Western Food Made for Sharing

Funky Fries is our take on loaded fries, scaled up to share. Three versions, all built on crinkle-cut fries:
- Funky Fries Chicken (RM20) — diced chicken patty, beef pepperoni, chicken bites, pickles, cheese, parmesan, parsley, sauces.
- Funky Fries Beef (RM20) — beef bacon, diced beef patty, brisket, pepperoni, pickles, parmesan, cheese sauce.
- Funky Fries Remix (RM25) — beef and chicken combined. Maximum chaos.
They're meant for the middle of the table. Drop one in front of a group and watch the conversation stop.
Korean Fried Chicken — The Western Food Hybrid
Korean fried chicken is technically not Western food, but it's earned a permanent seat at the Malaysian Western food table over the last decade. We do three flavours:
- Original — pure crispy fried chicken, no sauce.
- Daebak Korean Garlic Soy — savoury, sticky, addictive.
- Daebak Korean Sweet & Spicy — the gochujang-style classic.
Sold from 2 pieces (RM15) up to 15 pieces (RM98), with Family Treats sets running 5 to 22 pieces with sides and drinks included.
The Combo Rule — Best Western Food Deal in PJ
The single best-value move on our menu: add RM5 to any burger or fried chicken order and we'll turn it into a Combo Meal. That gets you the main, our crinkle-cut Awesome Fries, and a drink (Ice Lemon Tea or Bandung). It's how we keep Western food in PJ affordable without dropping the quality.
